Guitars for Vets

June is PTSD Awareness Month. Nearly one million of our Military Veterans are afflicted with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Many are finding hope through the healing power of music therapy. Music helps decrease anxiety, increase self-esteem, and reduce episodes of panic attacks, nightmares and flashbacks.

Guitars for Vets (G4V) is a 501c3 nonprofit based in Milwaukee, WI that has refined a guitar instruction program aimed at providing Veterans struggling with physical injuries, PTSD, and other emotional distress a unique therapeutic alternative. G4V pursues its mission to share the healing power of music by providing free guitar instruction, a new acoustic guitar and a guitar accessory kit in a structured program run by volunteers, primarily through the Department of Veterans Affairs facilities and community-based medical centers. 

You can help G4V continue its mission by donating your used guitars or other musical instruments and equipment! Donations of musical equipment are typically re-deployed to G4V chapters around the country or sold via e-commerce platforms to fund purchases of guitars and accessories for Veterans in G4V programs. 

Your donation can be dropped off at any one of our WaterStone Bank locations during the month of June during normal business hours.
