Veterans Day is an opportunity to honor and thank the men and women who have put their lives on the line to protect our country and keep us safe. We salute their efforts, recognize their sacrifice, and show our gratitude for their service. We're thankful for all that veterans have done and want to show our sincere appreciation by giving back.

Center for Veterans Issues (CVI)

The Center for Veterans Issues (CVI) has served the Veteran community for 33 years and is the largest non-profit Veteran organization that provides housing and supportive services to Veterans and their families across Wisconsin. CVI property manages the National Soldiers Home, developed a food pantry called Heroes Market and a mobile and web app called CVI Help to help connect resources to communities who need assistance. Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin (VOW)

Based in Racine, WI, Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin (VOW) works to make a difference in the lives of at-risk Veteran households. Our mission is to assist homeless and at-risk Veterans strive for normalcy in life by providing food, clothing, shelter, and other basic human needs. VOW has operated a food pantry, The Marketplace, since 2015. This program was born out of a recognition that food insecurity was a significant need for our Veterans. Stars and Stripes Honor Flight

Stars and Stripes Honor Flight honors WWII veterans, Korean War veterans, and Vietnam War veterans with one day, all-expenses-paid trips to Washington DC to visit the memorials and experience a full day of healing and gratitude for their service. Since 2008, the organization has honored almost 9,000 veterans from southeastern Wisconsin. They are proud to share that, as an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff and no offices, more than $.97 of every donated dollar goes directly to honoring veterans. Milwaukee Homeless Veteran Initiative

The Milwaukee Homeless Veteran Initiative is founded as well as run by veterans and has served thousands of veterans and their families in Southeastern Wisconsin since 2008. *The Veterans Nonprofit Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) by WaterStone Bank SSB (“WaterStone”) requires no purchase to participate and it is void where prohibited. The Sweepstakes is only open to legal residents of the State of Wisconsin who are at least 18 years old at the time of entry. Employees of WaterStone and immediate family members are not eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes. The Sweepstakes starts November 11, 2022 and ends on November 30, 2022. Entrants must provide the following information on the online veteran nonprofit voting form to be eligible: name and phone number or email address. In the event online participation is not feasible, call the Customer Support Center at (414) 761-1000 or meet with a branch representative. Three (3) veteran serving nonprofits will be selected to win a cash prize based on the number of votes, following the Sweepstakes. The first-place winner will receive $5,000, the second-place winner will receive $3,000, and the third-place winner will receive $2,000. Three (3) winners “individuals” will be randomly selected at the end of the Sweepstakes to each receive one (1) gift basket. Verifiable retail value: $95 - $115. The winners (nonprofit and “individuals”) of the Sweepstakes will be selected randomly before December 9, 2022. Winners will be notified via phone or email at the phone number or email address provided during entry. Winners “individuals” must pick up gift basket at a WaterStone Bank branch location of their choice within ten (10) business days of notification. Failure to collect the gift basket within time allotted results in a random selection of a new winner. Participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes winner’s consent to WaterStone’s use of the winner’s name in any media. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.
