Douglas S. Gordon
Douglas S. Gordon joined WaterStone Bank, SSB in November 2005, taking on the leadership role of President and Chief Operating Officer. In January 2007, he was promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer. He also serves as a member of the board of directors of the bank and Waterstone Financial, Inc.
Mr. Gordon has more than thirty years of financial experience in all facets of banking. Prior to WaterStone he was a Senior Vice President of M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank. Prior to joining M&I, he had achieved the position of Executive Vice President of Security Bank, overseeing all operations of the bank. When M&I purchased Security Bank in 1997, he joined M&I to head up the bank’s commercial real estate division.
He joined Security in 1983. At that time, Security was a savings and loan. He was responsible for creating its first commercial lending department and became President of Security Commercial Credit Corporation, the commercial lending division of Security Bank.
During his college years, he was employed both part time and full time at local banks, including Burlington Marine Bank and Cudahy Marine Bank. In 1978, he earned degrees of Bachelor of Arts in Business and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. He received his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Marquette University in 1981.
With a sports background in basketball, football, and baseball, he has been actively involved in coaching football and basketball youth teams. He coached the Junior Lancer Basketball program for fifth through eighth grade students in the Brookfield school district. He is currently involved with LISC, SecureFutures, the Marquette University Banking Curriculum, and is on the Community Banking Advisory Board for the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank.
