WaterStone Bank Announces New Community Presidents

Wauwatosa, Wis. — 9/26/2019 — WaterStone Bank has hired three new community presidents.

Curtis L. Schmitt Jr. now serves as community president of the bank’s West Allis branch (10101 W. Greenfield Ave.). He most recently served as the Membership Director for the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce. Prior, he was a vice president of investments, a small business specialist and a private client banker at J.P Morgan Chase & Co. Schmitt has over 12 years of leadership and management experience in the United States Army. He serves as the vice chair of the State of Wisconsin’s Board of Veterans Affairs, and is actively involved in veteran organizations. Schmitt currently resides in Franklin and is eager to engage with the West Allis community.

The former community president of WaterStone Bank’s West Allis branch on Greenfield Ave., Gina Rafenstein, will be relocating to serve as community president of the bank’s Greenfield branch (5000 W. Loomis Rd.).

Sharron Smith now serves as community president of the bank’s Pewaukee branch (1230 George Towne Dr.). Smith has 15 years of experience in banking including customer service, sales, and consumer/business lending management. She is a member of the GMCC where she serves as their treasurer. She also serves as an executive board member at the Fondy Market. Smith resides in Milwaukee and actively volunteers for community organizations such as United Way and the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.

Morgan Strandt now serves as community president of the bank’s Oconomowoc branch (1233 Corporate Center Dr.). Strandt has more than six years of retail management experience. She previously served as an assistant manager at WaterStone’s Waukesha branch (21505 E. Moreland Blvd.) and as the assistant retail manager at Tri City National Bank’s Brookfield branch. Strandt holds bachelor’s degrees in both communications and sociology from UW-Whitewater. She currently resides in Oconomowoc and is looking forward to connecting with local organizations in the Lake Country/Waukesha area.
