Diversity & Inclusion / Community Involvement

As a company, WaterStone Bank embraces diversity among our employees. We view these differences as assets to the groups and organizations with which they interact. Having employees that are reflective of the various communities we serve is important to us as an organization and is an essential component of our recruitment strategy.

In addition, as a local financial institution with a long history serving the community, WaterStone Bank has an active charitable foundation that gives more than half a million dollars a year to local nonprofits that serve women, children and veterans, support our local schools and develop our community in a variety of ways. We also provide products designed especially for our active duty service members, military veterans and reserve and National Guard service members, offer scholarships at area high schools and provide support in the community through employee volunteer initiatives. We work daily to identify opportunities for our employee base to connect in meaningful and enriching ways with the communities we serve.

As an organization, community support is a strong component of who we are and is one part of how we create a holistic, inclusive workplace.

Past, Present, and Future

Where we started: From 1921 through May 2008, WaterStone Bank was known primarily as Wauwatosa Savings Bank. The bank experienced quite a bit of growth throughout the years leading up to 2008, both in new branch offices and in additional product lines. Since 1921, WaterStone has served local communities as a financial institution known for its tradition of stability and community involvement.

Where we are now: WaterStone Bank has continued to grow its branch network, with offices in Wauwatosa, Oak Creek, Franklin/Hales Corners, Fox Point, Greenfield, Oconomowoc, Pewaukee, Waukesha, Germantown/Menomonee Falls, West Allis, and Brookfield. With the opening of six branch locations since August 2006, WaterStone Bank has continued to grow into communities in Southeast Wisconsin. WaterStone Bank transitioned from a savings bank into a full service institution offering mortgage products, home equity products, checking, savings, certificates of deposit, money market, IRA accounts, commercial loans, and business banking products.

Where we are going: It is apparent that WaterStone Bank is no longer a typical savings and loan institution; our markets reach beyond Wauwatosa. WaterStone Bank plans to continue to expand geographically to other communities. Our intentions are to be the premier community bank in all the communities we serve.
